Admissions
Welcome to the Admissions page for Six to Six! Here, you can find all the information you need about applying to our school. To the right, you’ll have access to the Lottery Applications and Waiting List options. Our lottery applications are available in English, Portuguese, and Spanish to accommodate all families.
Additionally, we invite you to read a special message from our Principal, Emma Warne Balter:
"I think the best thing about Six to Six is the sense of community. We are a close-knit group of students, families, teachers, staff, and community members who look out for each other. In addition, we strive to promote curiosity about the world around us. We look for opportunities to engage in our surroundings and try new adventures, like a boat ride on Long Island Sound or a trip to the Discovery Adventure Center. We encourage kids to give back to their community, collecting food items or mittens and gloves for those in need. I look forward to welcoming you into this very special family, where you are seen and heard, and where your opinion matters."

Thank you for your interest in our Six to Six Community. Each year a waiting list of applicants is generated through a blind lottery. A separate lottery is held for applicants from each town/city by grade level. Children are admitted based on the availability of space and their number on the waiting list. In each grade level there are students from our member districts of Bridgeport, Stratford, Fairfield, Trumbull and Monroe. Children from other towns may be admitted to fill a vacancy when we reach our agreed upon maximum student enrollment from our listed member districts. Please click the link below and choose the tab that corresponds with your town to access the waiting list. Students who are highlighted at the moment have received an acceptance email to the address on the application. The waiting list is updated as spots become available and offered to the next child on the list. Please do not contact the school for information regarding the waiting list.
***The Connecticut General Statute Public Act 23-208 now requires that children turn five years old on or before September 1st to be admitted into kindergarten. The law does specify that school districts are required to implement an exemption process for families that request one. If you choose to apply for kindergarten for your child born between September 2nd and December 31st, your application serves as a request for a waiver and your child's enrollment will be contingent on assessment of your child's development. Details regarding this assessment process will be provided in the event that a space is potentially available for your child. In the instance that your waiver for kindergarten is not approved, your application would move to the bottom of the preschool waiting list.
